Cosmonauts to bring quail eggs back to Earth on board Soyuz MS-24 spacecraft

MOSCOW, 4 April (BelTA) – The Soyuz MS-24 spacecraft will bring back a crew, which includes Belarus’ representative Marina Vasilevskaya, and quail eggs to Earth, BelTA learned from the Russian space agency Roscosmos.

According to Roscosmos, cosmonauts at the International Space Station have placed quail eggs into the Soyuz MS-24 spacecraft for return to Earth.

According to the source, the crew transfer vehicle Soyuz MS-24 at the ISS has been prepared for landing, which is scheduled for 6 April. In particular, preventive maintenance was done on the mechanisms for sealing the hatches between the crew transfer vehicle and the small research module Rassvet. The satellite telephone terminal in the spacecraft was recharged. Samples were taken from surfaces in the Zarya, Zvezda, Poisk, Rassvet, and Nauka modules and the crew transfer vehicle Soyuz MS-25 for descent to Earth. Returning equipment was placed into the spacecraft. The equipment the experiments Magnetic Fabrication, Matryoshka-R and Quail required was transferred into the spacecraft.

The Soyuz MS-24 crew transfer vehicle is supposed to bring Belarus’ first cosmonaut Marina Vasilevskaya, the Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky, and the NASA astronaut Loral O'Hara back to Earth on 6 April.
